Thanks to everyone who recently participated in my survey to help me choose the best name for my upcoming course on self-acceptance and managing our Inner Critics. It was so interesting to read all the wonderful suggestions that everyone made and to see which titles people preferred.
Here are my original ideas you voted on, in order of preference:
- Self-Acceptance and Inner Sanctuaries for Sensitive Souls (original draft title)
- Creating Inner Sanctuaries: How to Keep Your Inner Critic From Running (or Ruining) Your Life
- How to Shut Down Your Inner Critic: Set Yourself Free by Changing Your Inner Dialogue
Reader Suggestions
And here are a few of my favorite reader suggestions, which I’ve grouped into categories for fun.
Quieting the Critic
- “Silencing the Inner Critic”
- “Quieting Your Inner Critic, Fears, Worries, and Doubts So You Can Have a More Peaceful Inner Experience”
- “Censor the Inner Critic: Learning to Love Your Sensitive Self”
- “Creating Inner Sanctuaries and Self Love Through Taming the Inner Critic”
- “How to Stop Listening to the Invalid Voice of the Inner Critic that Makes You an Emotional Invalid” (clever!)
Claiming Inner Peace
- “Peace Within, Strength Without: Thriving in the World as a Highly Sensitive Person”
- “Free To Be Me — Featuring Self-Acceptance For the Sensitive Soul”
- “Self-Acceptance: Freedom From The Shameful Feeling There’s Something Wrong With You”
Living Your Purpose and Sharing Your Gifts
- “Understanding, Loving & Accepting Your Sensitve Self — You Are Here For a Reason”
- “How to Create Inner Sanctuaries that Propel Your Outer Gifts In The World”
- “You Were Designed To Be Sensitive Person — Learn to Love This Gift You’ve Been Given — Live the Life God Created You For in Joy.”
All these wonderful title suggestions really start to speak to how compelling and critical this topic is, don’t you think?
Many people loved the “Inner Sanctuaries” concept, though others said they didn’t know what that meant. I also heard that the titles I had were too long and others thought it was important to include the word “sensitive” in the title.
So in the end, I’ve based my final selection on one of my reader’s suggestions that I think captures the content and essence of what this course is all about.
Here goes: “Quiet Your Inner Critic: Learn to Love Your Sensitive Self”
I hope you like it.
Quiet Your Inner Critic and Learn to Love Your Sensitive Self So You Can Do What You Were Put Here to Do
This is such an important topic for sensitive souls — so often we buy into the negative messages we tell ourselves and allow them to stop us from making our meaningful contributions to the world. It’s my passionate mission to see sensitive souls in the world in a way that truly works, so we can do what we were put here to do.
A huge obstacle for so many of us is not accepting ourselves, thinking we’re not good enough, or valuing our high sensitivity. We’re so hard on ourselves as a result — and it takes up so much of our precious life energy and time. Learning to quiet that negative voice is a huge step towards claiming your freedom.
Thanks again, everyone! It’s fun to work together on creating something.
p.s. Please join me for this powerful telephone course which starts this coming MONDAY, August 17th! Registration opens tomorrow, so watch for an e-mail in your Inbox with all the details.

This is a great title.. love it.. Ingrid
Hi Jenna!
I really used to love the e-zines you used to send out some time ago. I found them so informative. Do you think you’ll ever send the e-zines again or have you moved on to other projects and won’t be sending those again? Thank you, Giovanna
Great choice, Jenna. Your process for coming to this inspires me.
Ingrid, Thanks!
Giovanna, In place of my previous monthly e-zine I’ve been sending out an article twice per month, now on Tuesdays, and also posting it on my blog so people have a place to comment and interact. Hopefully they are similarly informative! I’ll probably go back to adding a personal note at the beginning of the e-zine again, which is the main difference between what I’m doing now and what I was doing then. Thanks for asking, and for your support and interest.
Mary, Thank you! I love to be an inspiration to others.
Hi Jenna, I had no idea there are so many sensitive ones like me. I always unusually sensitive and would get negative feedback from others growing up. But know there are others like me makes me feel like I truly have a gift. Really, we all do. All of us sensitive ones. Thanks for all your great articles!!! LOVE the choice you made for the title. Very accurate way of describing it. Take care for now.
Hi Jenna,
Super title! Sounds tantalizing. What a creative group of readers you’ve got.

I love the name, Jenna!!
Hugs to you~
Hi Jenna! Remember: the opposite is equally true. It must be since everything is happening simultaneously. Love from Texas, Barbara
You’re onto me, Barbara.
