I think of myself as an extroverted introvert. I first learned the definition of introvert by doing the Myers Briggs personality test http://www.myersbriggs.org at my job. I was borderline on every category so I do not think much of the test - how can I be borderline every category for crying out loud! (But maybe my being an HSP put me in that borderline area?) It took a little time to understand that shy and introvert are two different things, also. I can now appreciate myself as an introvert because I never thought of myself as being shy. I was in a seminar about Myers Briggs one time and the moderator made a wonderful comment - Introverts may not say a lot but when they speak, listen, because what they say is really important.

So this article was a good read for me. I love to try new things and have a lot of interests. But my HSP gets in the way a lot because I over extend myself.

And I have noticed that I am the extrovert when I am around introverts and I become introverted by extroverts. I will work on creating better boundaries around my friends and colleagues that have that effect on me.

Hi Sarah,

You said:
"And I have noticed that I am the extrovert when I am around introverts and I become introverted by extroverts. "

I do that too! Some sort of need to keep everybody else happy, and fill in all the social gaps. Exhausting. I want to be OK with "whatever happens, happens."

Hi Sherris,

Great to put a face w/a voice! I am taking Jenna's course now, too, and I am really getting a lot out of it.

I just took the aura colors test. I can now see the correlation w/my prominent yellow aura - fun loving, like to laugh, living spontaneously - and my feeling of being more of an extrovert a lot of the time, but being unable to get past being overwhelmed. I guess it is all a balance.

Sarah

What a dream to find you! Friendly when I am out and love my solitude at home. We rock! Love, Jules
